If you have never used a pool service, you might wonder what actually happens during a weekly visit. A good technician does far more than scoop out leaves. Here is a complete breakdown of what a professional weekly pool service includes and why each step keeps your pool healthy and swim-ready.
Water testing and chemical care
Every regular visit includes adjusting chemicals as needed and shocking the pool when necessary, performing extensive water analysis as needed, and refilling auto chlorinators with chlorine tablets.
The chemicals covered by a weekly plan are the chemicals listed in our Terms of Service. Other chemicals and salt are billed separately.
Cleaning: skimming, brushing, and vacuuming
Every regular visit includes skimming leaves and debris from the water surface, brushing all pool walls, steps and floor as needed, and vacuuming the pool. Vacuuming is every regular visit.
Debris left on the floor can stain the finish and feed algae, so vacuuming stays on the weekly list.
Baskets and the filter
Every regular visit includes cleaning out all skimmers, cleaning out all pump baskets, and backwashing the filter (sand and DE filters). Cartridge filters don't backwash.
A full filter cleaning is separate from the weekly backwash. Gold-D (D.E. filters) includes removing, cleaning, and inspecting the filter grids; inspecting all filter parts; labor to replace any broken or worn parts or grids; and fresh D.E. Replacement parts and grids billed separately. Scheduled for April and October. Gold-C (cartridge filters) includes removing, cleaning, and inspecting the cartridges; inspecting all filter parts; and labor to replace any broken or worn parts or cartridges. Replacement parts and cartridges billed separately. Scheduled for January, April, July, and October. Silver does not include filter cleanings. A filter clean outside those included cleans is sent as an estimate at the regular rate, currently $195, and done only after approval.
Pump inspection
Every regular visit includes inspecting pump operation.
